2016 April Triple A Issue

Ziggy Marley April 2016

I don’t know about your town but April 20  has become an (un)official holiday in Los Angeles.  Cheech and Chong are performing tonight.  There’s a screening of Dazed and Confused at a 2000 seat venue, Doug Benson is doing his Getting Doug with High podcast and Radio Informer features Seven time GRAMMY award winning recording artist Ziggy Marley as its cover artist.

The first single, Weekend’s Long from his self-titled new album out May 20 is a breath of fresh air.  The song just takes me away.

I found a place where the weekend’s long

Don’t check no luggage just carry on

Leave the sorrows indoctrinated

Cause now you’ve been emancipated

I want to go to there. It’s a hit!  Impact day for radio is May 2.

Mute Records is smoking this month with an insane amount of good music.  Yeasayer’s “Silly Me” has an infectious groove that just doesn’t stop.  They will light it up at festivals and headlining shows across the states starting in May.

M83 strongly suggest you “Do It, Try It”.  Maybe I’ve been staring at the singing dog too long but I detect the band Abba in this single.   Listen to it and you’ll hear the same.  Go ahead man, do it, try it.

Once you catch a whiff of the electronic/soul of “Running” from Moderat you’ll want to know more.  The third album in their trilogy was released this month and this Berlin band, voted best electronic live act, will reach the US in May.

I also invite you to partake in the feel good vibes of OnDeadWavesand  Luh.  NPR’s Song We Love feature described Great American Canyon Band as “blending dream-pop, acoustic Americana psychedelia.“

Don’t bogart the music man, just keep listening to The Sea The Sea, Good Old War, Firekid and Christine & The Queens.

Enjoy!
