2016 February Triple A Issue

Well the Grammys are over and instead of looking back to 2015 we can look forward to the music we’ll be playing well into 2016.
You can look to Radio Informer cover artist and Los Angeles native Nico Yaryan as someone that might just be on your best new artist list for 2016.  “Just tell me the love is strong” Nico intones on this first single and I do have strong love for this song.  However Nico’s aptly named album “What A Tease” won’t come until June so for now we can enjoy the slow groove of “Just Tell Me”.
Could this be the year the United States finally takes notice of Boy & Bear?  They’ve been recognized many times over in their home country of Australia with Aria awards, the Australian equivalent of The Grammy.  “Where’d You Go” is the follow up single to the hit “Walk The Wire and is going for adds next week.  Put it at the top of your “must listen to” pile.
This could also be a breakthrough year for Nashville based band Moon Taxi.  They’ll get to prove themselves as they’re playing many of the major summer festivals this year including ll, Firelfy and Forecastle.  Check out this performance of the band playing their single “All Day All Night” at Bonnaroo last year.
Elvis Costello is doing a west coast swing of his solo Detour tour this March to April.  In case you can’t catch it make sure to check out the DVD of his performance in Liverpool.  It was released last week from Eagle Rock and you can check out the trailer here.  Good stuff indeed!
This February issue also includes a great shake your money maker groove from Mayer Hawthorne.  An uplifting acoustic driven track from New Zealand teenager Lontalius, An NPR “Current Song We Love” from Tuareg musician, Bombino, “Wide Open” an insanely beautiful track from The Chemical Brothers and Beck that in 3 weeks has nearly 8 million views on YouTube. We also are featuring a really nice acoustic track from Griffin House, a fiery song courtesy of Janet Devlin and we close out with a booty shaker from Miike Snow.
