2015 August Triple A Issue

Radio Informer Triple A August 2015

We may be entering the Fall season but Australians Boy & Bear are ready for the Spring.  The band who had a top 5 hit last year with “Southern Sun” are back with a perfect pop song entitled “Walk The Wire”  that will make you feel like it’s time to get ready for Spring Break.

It is clearly Fall for Alessia Cara as she is so over her past relationship.  This song lays out like a film noir. The way Portishead’s “Glory Box” plays over the intro as Alessia intones “I’m sorry if I seem uninterested” will get listeners to pull out their Shazam app to find out who is this.

In case you forgot, you can still rock with banjos.  Just ask The Cerny Brothers.  One listen to “Nightburn” and you too might want to “bum a ride on Highway 66”

No single band makes me as happy as Wilco.  Each new album surprises me musically. This new one literally surprised me with them giving away the album (sorry Anti-).  The band is obviously proud of this album as they’ve been playing it from front to back to start all their shows.  The first single from the album Star Wars is “Random Name Generator” so I took a visit to The Star Wars Random Name Generator, entered in Wilco lead singer Jeff Tweedy and I got Bivisnt Okul.  Feel free to mention that on your morning show.

Radio Informer has remembered to also pack your Fall back to school sampler with an atmospheric track from Australians The Paper Kites, an uplifting song from Moon Taxi, a driving rocker from Blitzen Trapper and if you ever decide to stop playing “Riptide”, it would be a great idea to idea to give Vance Joy’s “Fire And The Flood” a listen.  Enjoy!
