2014 April Hot AC Issue

HAC201404-McLachlan-Verve

Great songs are flowing out of artists returning with new releases! This issue of RadioInformer is chock full of terrific follow-ups by Passenger, Andy Grammer, Daughtry, Shakira, Mikey Wax, Fray, A Great Big World and more! Veteran thrush Sara McLachlan’s starts things off with her up tempo “In Your Shoes”, a singable ditty featuring…. that amazing VOICE! Passenger, AKA Michael David Rosenberg, is back with another earthy showcase for his unique voice and lyrical point of view. Nice sing-a-long half way through the song, which will work great live. And speaking of sing-a-long, check out the new Andy Grammer smash, “Back Home”! This one is headed to the top of the charts. Daughtry’s new one “Battleships” just might be the best track on his new album. Don’t overlook this one! New Wind-Up artist Jillette Johnson is off to a good start at radio with “Torpedo”. Great programmer feedback coming in for Jillette. Shakira parlays her exposure on The Voice with “Empire”, a showcase for her vocal dynamics “…and the stars make love to the universe”! In case you didn’t pay attention to Mikey Wax’s first Hot AC entree, “Counting On You”, “You Lift Me Up” should pique your interest. Huge hook! Ever heard Brooklyn duo Oh Honey? Well, it’s time! Check out “Be Okay” and get drawn in by Danielle Bouchard’s catchy cute vocals and energy. By popular demand the soulful hit “Stay With Me” by Brit Sam Smith is reprised on this issue. It’s now looking like a smash. Last but not least is the Fray’s return to familiar sounds with “Break Your Plans” and A Great Big World’s excellent follow-up to “Say Something”, “Already Home”. Cheers!
